Oliver brings extensive experience in museums, hospitality and interiors, with notable projects for the British Museum, the V&A and the Virgin Group.
Previously, as the founder of design studio Softroom, he led major gallery and visitor experience projects for world-renowned cultural institutions. At the British Museum, his completed works includes the Ruddock Gallery of Medieval Europe, the Sir Harry and Lady Djanogly Gallery of Clocks and Watches, the Members’ Room, and the Great Court Restaurant. He also delivered the Jameel Gallery of Islamic Art at the V&A and the Samy Ofer Wing at the National Maritime Museum. Oliver’s work has earned accolades such as the RIBA Stephen Lawrence Prize, the Royal Fine Arts Commission’s ‘Building of the Year’, and a D&AD Yellow Pencil.
His appointment also marks a reunion with Alison, with whom he first collaborated in 1992.
