Monica joined Alison Brooks Architects in 2019, and since then has devoted her time to developing detailed drawing packages, RIBA Stage 4, for the S3 residential project in Cambridge. She also contributes to the ABA Sustainability Group, a subject that is a personal interest. Monica has an attention to detail for the human, and liveable aspects of architectural design, and to apply these principles throughout construction detailing to the selection of design of finishes. Immediately before joining the ABA team, Monica has spent a year working on the Knights Quarter residential development for Berkeley Homes in Winchester. Her role included the co-ordination of consultants, and preparation of tender and construction packages for three blocks in the scheme.
Monica gained her architectural qualifications at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specialising in Cultural Heritage. She received her Master’s Degree in 2015, and has been a fully qualified ARB UK Architect since 2017. After graduating in 2015, Monica has combined working as a freelancer on small scale residential renovations in Spain with working at several architecture studios in London. Her design experience spans from private housing to the restoration and conversion of 19th century warehouses into artists studios. She also has knowledge of designing bespoke fit-out furniture, and working closely with craftsmen through the design process to fabrication.
