Tribeca Liverpool

Recipient of a 2008 Housing Design Award, Tribeca is a 98 unit mixed use development forming part of a regeneration of Liverpool city centre by developer Urban Splash.

Our Great George street site is adjacent to Liverpool’’s Anglican Cathedral designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott. The prescribed masterplan called for the creation of a strong urban axis fronted by large, 8 storey tall, mixed use commercial and residential buildings along the length of Great George Street.

ABA’s approach centred on a manipulation of the existing volumes of the master plan to form a more powerful response to the existing site and wedding shop, with faceted geometries and a 14 storey tower that acts as beacon at the south end of the development. The building acts as both a landmark and gateway to the Rope walks, becoming a symbol for the future regeneration of Great George Street.
