Since joining ABA in 2017, Chen has worked extensively on the North West Cambridge development across a number of projects. On Athena and S3, Chen has helped to deliver drawing packages for planning, detailed design and tender purposes, as well as producing construction information. While for Lot 4 of the development, he has contributed to the feasibility and design development of the project. Chen has also been part of the core team for a number of competition proposals and co-ordinating the design of the residential portion of the Wellcome Genome Campus masterplan for planning approval.

Prior to joining ABA, Chen gained a broad range of design and construction experience at nimtim Architects, producing full tender packages and specifications on small scale housing projects. As an intern at OAC he worked on a Presidential and Memorial Library in Taipei, Taiwan, producing design proposals for the arrival area to the complex.

Chen graduated with both his Bachelor and Masters in Architecture at the University of Nottingham in 2017. Prior to which he had gained a Distinction for an Art Foundation diploma at Ravensbourne College. His Master’s thesis investigated and challenged the role that architecture plays in stigmatising mental health conditions. Subsequently, Chen is also engaged with wellbeing and sustainability within the office and its projects, organising an office wellbeing programme of talks, events and activities.
